OUR FACILITIES

Adventure Playgrounds

We have two adventure playgrounds in the school – one in the senior school and one in the junior school.  There is a flying fox, various slides, a rock wall, and several balancing activities within the playgrounds.  All children love spending time on these playgrounds during breaks, and before and after school.

Both the senior and junior students also have their own field to play on.  Every lunchtime there are organised games on the field for the seniors, supervised by a duty teacher.

We also have two sandpits available for use by students in Terms 1 and 4, one in the junior school and one in the senior school.

Computer Labs

There are two computer labs at Trentham School.  One is situated in the Information Resource Centre with 15 computers and another lab is in our administration area with 10 computers.  Classes use the labs in a variety of ways according to the students’ needs.  The labs are also used for extension groups with specialist teachers.

Library / Information Resource Centre

Trentham School has a modern well resourced library with a large collection of over 7000 items.  Books, magazines and audio CD ROMs support the school curriculum and provide a wide range of material for the students’ leisure reading.  The adjoining computer suite provides access to the internet and a wide range of educational interactive games.

Each class has a timetabled library session where they can return and issue books, read, listen to stories, and conduct research using the large collection of non-fiction and reference books as well as the internet in the adjoining computer suite.

The library is open at lunchtimes, four times a week, for students to read, research homework and play strategic and thinking games.

There is also a parent library which is a collection of books and magazines on parenting topics. These can be borrowed by any parent or caregiver of a child at the school once they have registered as a borrower.

Swimming Pool

The school has a heated indoor swimming pool which all students have the opportunity to swim in during Terms 1 and 4.  Students participate in an intensive daily swimming programme with their class during these two terms.  Our pool is well maintained and a real asset to the school.
