PARENT TUTORS IN READING

A tutor is a volunteer who:

Enjoys books and working with children.

  • Attends a training session before starting.
  • Is committed to attending the school for one and half hours per week on the same day and time.
  • Has five children on an individual basis; fifteen minutes each, during the one and a half hours.
  • Sees the same children each week, therefore building up a rapport with these children.
  • Follow a teacher’s instructions as to the needs of a child.

At present we have 8 tutors at our school. They gain enjoyment, a feeling of success and achievement when they see the progress of the children at our school.
